The 1963 ALL-STAR GAME

July 10, 1963
Municipal Stadium
Cleveland, OH
Nevada Dusters All-Stars
Steve Barber (P) did not play
Albie Pearson (CF)
Claude Raymond (P) did not play
Hal Reniff (P) did not play
Steve Barber (12-2, 2.75), Albie Pearson (.334, 11, 37), Claude Raymond (5-2, 1.48), and Hal Reniff (5-3, 2.56, 31 saves) were named to the NL All-Star squad. It was the first time for all four players. Only Pearson saw action, getting one at-bat. Conn Hudson announced that he was proud of the four Nevada Dusters All Stars, and said they were deserving of the honor. He skirted the issue of whether they should have gotten more playing time.  Ben Naylor didn't, though, saying it was okay with him that three pitchers hadn't taken the mound at Cleveland Stadium -- particularly Barber, who was slated to start in the upcoming series in Chicago.
